“Drop Dead Alive”: Setting Your Promise Given Agenda for 2023

In Episode 231 of The Beyond Adversity Podcast Dr. Brad Miller has a talk about setting a promise-given agenda in planning for the new year of 2023.

Using the phrase “How Can I Change” from a recent video from Google about the 2022 Year in Search as a starting point Dr. Brad Miller lays out his agenda for 2023 as the year to “Drop Dead Alive.”

Dr. Brad describes his process for setting a promise-given agenda in new year planning using terms like “resolutions” and “goal-setting” but not bound by them.

The process he calls “The Big Button-ACTS” method involves using three questions engaging the cognitive, affective and behavioral aspects of the personality before asking the BIG BUTTON question which sets the course of action moving forward.

The Questions are:

What Do You Want?

How Do You Feel About It?

What Are You Presently Doing About It?

Big Button Question: What Do You Need to Do NOW?

Dr. Brad Goes on to Share Plans for the Beyond Adversity Podcast for 2023 which will include multiple episodes per week with and emphasis on content on health and longevity under the banner of bonus episodes under the title of “Drop Dead-Alive!”

Bringing Meditation Alive In Our Lives with Neil McKinlay

Neil is a meditation teacher and mentor, a survivor, and a recovered. He’s bringing meditation alive in our lives with Embodied Meditation.

In this episode, Neil shared his struggle with the dissonance between what was going on and what he thought was going on.

He talks about the point of his drama and trauma experience and a situation in which he found he had to leave.

Instead of becoming trapped, falling, engaging in substance abuse, or other destructive activities like a lot of people do, Neil chose to embrace his depressed state in a way to understand it while still actively healing himself.

Through the practice of meditation and community, Neil discovered a relationship with this inner knowing that was more visible, suited to his life and circumstances, and trustworthy.

Neil McKinlay talks to Dr. Brad about the way he lives his life— through practices, habits, spiritual practices, or anything else—different or subtler than how he did it in the past, but aids in healing and encourages greater productivity, calm, and a sense of meaning in his life.

Neil McKinlay’s story is an inspiring, spiritual, and transformative testimony of someone who has navigated difficult circumstances and emerged to a life of peace, prosperity, and meaning.

How to Find Purpose and Meaning When You Don’t Know Where to Start With Martin Theis

Martin engages in shamanic journeys that promote spiritual awakening. He also started a business and a coaching practice to help his clients live fulfilled, peaceful, and joyful lives.

In this episode, Martin shared how he overcame his greatest pain point, the suffering he had from depression, and how the shamanic journey works.

He talks about why his business is called Light Trails because after starting his trial on building his business, things got lighter for him.

For Martin, the heaviness he felt for most of his life was the greatest teacher. Because yes, it is difficult to get out, but once you’ve done it, the learnings from it will be your strength.

The most important thing to break out of your depression is to keep moving. Martin journeyed a lot during his time of depression, which helped him keep moving and get closer to finding himself.

Reading spiritual books and spiritual awareness also helped him get in touch with himself and connect with the outside world that couldn’t pacify him.

Martin Theis discusses how Neale Donald Walsch’s book “Conversations With God,” which made him aware that there is a source of higher consciousness or God that we can connect to, changed his perspective. This guides him to know that he is not alone and God is there for him.

Martin Theis’s story is inspiring, spiritual, and calming. A story of someone who emerges from a difficult state and doesn’t stop pushing forward until he finds himself and builds a connection towards God and his creations.

Episode 228 of The Beyond Adversity Podcast is a must-listen for anyone who has difficulties in breaking out of their depression and finding their purpose in life, looking for a motivating story of a man who keeps moving forward and pierces through all of the adversities in life.

Move Past Fear, Doubt And Step Into Freedom with the Creator of the Recovery at Work Coaching Program Maureen Ross Gemme

A company that helps individuals to discover themselves and step into leadership. They aim to guide people to become the leader they know they are, conscious, competent, and caring. And ultimately enjoy the life they have.

In this episode, Maureen shared how she overcame and recover from her miserable life with different addictions such as drugs and alcohol

In her childhood, Maureen grew up in a large family. Following up on her teenage years, she thought that figuring out who she was is the way to break away.

Maureen started to walk on the wrong path. She begins to have sex, drugs, and alcohol, and skip schooling, all sorts of things a 15-year-old girl would never imagine doing.

When Maureen finally realizes that it is all her fault why she is in that situation, she begins to read books, and slowly, her thinking becomes more positive. And she never stops there. She started to walk on the path to personal growth and development and switched her addiction from alcohol and drugs. Since 1985, Maureen has not taken a drink or drug.

For Maureen, pain is what makes us change. Also, the connection is one of the biggest advantages of her personality type and just being able to bond with people, really helped her save her soul.

Maureen Ross’s story is inspiring, motivating, and transformational testament of one who has walked the path of adversities and risen up from the depths of it full of scars, yet beautifully returned with knowledge and power to help other people recover as well.

Episode 227 of The Beyond Adversity Podcast is a must-listen for any person who strayed from the straight path and walked through adversities and wants to be inspired and motivated to change and recover to live a life full of happiness and love.
